Tasmanian Tiger

The Tasmanian Tiger was a marsupial that became extinct less than a hundred years ago. They earned their name because of the distinctive tiger-like stripes along their lower back and tail. They were also known as a Thylacine or “Tasmanian wolf”.  They had a pouch for their babies just like koala bears and kangaroos.
